What Drives Us

Our Mission

Sharing the good news of God's Kingdom through free Bible education, compassionate service, and authentic community.

A Clear and Unchanging Purpose

The mission of the Woodhaven Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses is rooted in the commission that Jesus Christ gave his followers nearly two thousand years ago: to share the good news of God's Kingdom with all people, without distinction of background, age, nationality, or circumstance.

We carry out this mission by offering free, personal Bible education to any person who requests it; by gathering weekly for uplifting spiritual programmes open to all; and by serving our neighbours in Spruce Grove with practical care, honesty, and sincere compassion.

We believe the Bible's message is urgently relevant today — offering answers to life's most important questions, comfort in times of distress, and hope for the future of humanity and the earth itself.

"Go, therefore, and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you."

The Three Pillars of Our Mission

Our mission is expressed through three interconnected commitments — education, community, and service.

1. Free Bible Education

We offer personal and group Bible studies at no cost to anyone who is interested. Our trained volunteers meet on a schedule that works for the student — at home, in a local café, or at our Kingdom Hall. The curriculum is drawn directly from the Bible, with no theological pre-conditions.

Topics include: the purpose of life, the hope for the dead, God's name and character, family values, and the future of the earth.

2. Authentic Community

A congregation is only as strong as the bonds of love within it. We are committed to building a community where every member feels valued, known, and cared for — a place where friendships are genuine and support is real, especially in times of hardship or personal difficulty.

We celebrate milestones, support the elderly, mentor young people, and ensure that no one in our congregation faces life's challenges alone.

3. Neighbourly Service

Our mission extends beyond the walls of the Kingdom Hall. We actively look for ways to serve Spruce Grove: assisting elderly residents, supporting families in crisis, participating in community clean-up initiatives, and simply being good neighbours in the truest sense of the word.

Service is not a programme — it is an expression of who we are and what we believe.

  • Seniors who value community connection and spiritual depth
  • Newcomers to Canada or Alberta seeking a welcoming community
