Serving Our Neighbours

Community Outreach

We believe faith is expressed through action. Discover how the Woodhaven Congregation serves Spruce Grove with practical love.

Faith in Action, Right Here in Spruce Grove

For us, the command to "love your neighbour" is not abstract. It drives us into our community with open hands and willing hearts. The Woodhaven Congregation is deeply invested in the well-being of every person in our neighbourhood — whether or not they ever attend a meeting or study the Bible with us.

Our congregation volunteers contribute hundreds of hours each year to practical service initiatives that make a tangible difference in people's lives. We help elderly residents, support families in difficult times, and simply show up for neighbours who have no one else.

This is not charity in the transactional sense — it is neighbourly love, freely given and without condition.

Our Community Initiatives

From practical assistance to educational support, our volunteers engage in a wide range of service activities throughout the year.

Senior Support & Wellness Checks

Our volunteers regularly visit elderly and housebound residents in the Spruce Grove area, offering companionship, practical help, and the assurance that they are not alone.

Disaster Relief & Emergency Aid

Jehovah's Witnesses are known globally for rapid, organised disaster response. The Woodhaven Congregation is prepared and trained to assist community members in local emergencies.

Neighbourhood Clean-Up Days

Twice a year, our congregation organises clean-up days in the Woodhaven neighbourhood — collecting litter, tidying public spaces, and demonstrating care for our shared environment.

Literacy & Educational Support

Our members assist newcomers and community members with reading programmes, language support, and general literacy — helping people access education and opportunity.

Newcomer Welcome Programme

New to Spruce Grove? Our congregation warmly welcomes new arrivals — helping them find their footing, connect with services, and feel at home in Alberta.

Mental Health & Emotional Support

Life is hard. Our trained and caring congregation members offer a listening ear, practical guidance based on Biblical principles, and connection to appropriate support services.

Who Volunteers With Us?

All of our community service is carried out by willing volunteers from within the Woodhaven Congregation. These are ordinary men, women, and young people motivated by genuine love for their neighbours and a desire to live out their faith in practical ways.

No special skills are required. The willingness to show kindness and work alongside others is all that is needed. Our volunteers come from all walks of life and work together with remarkable unity of purpose.

If you are a congregation member and would like to be more involved in our community service activities, please speak to one of our elders or reach out through our contact page.
